Rock / Alternative
Lessons in rock and alternative may involve riffs, power chords, rhythm playing, muting, picking technique, lead playing, alternate tunings, and learning parts directly from recordings.
A lot of the direction will depend on the bands and guitarists you listen to. Songs can give us a reason to work on certain techniques rather than learning them as isolated exercises.
As you get more comfortable, we can also pay closer attention to the smaller things that give different players their sound, like timing, dynamics, articulation, pick attack, and the way riffs or chords are actually played.
This path is a starting point, not a fixed curriculum.
