Singer-Songwriter / Folk

Lessons in this direction may involve open chords, strumming, fingerpicking, rhythm, chord changes, capo use, chord embellishments, and playing while singing.

The guitar doesn’t always need to be the center of attention. A big part of this kind of playing is learning how to support a song and make rhythm, dynamics, and chord choices work with everything else that’s happening.

We can use songs you already enjoy to study different accompaniment styles and gradually build a larger collection of patterns and ideas you can use elsewhere.

This path is a starting point, not a fixed curriculum.
